Hello and welcome to my website
Hager’s Custom Woodworks LLC is a small,
privately-owned custom woodwork shop specializing in one-of-a-kind furniture
for any room in your home as well as custom cabinets for your kitchen and
bath. Most projects begin with just an
idea in your mind that can be transformed into exactly what you want in your
home. We use computer design software to
draw your kitchen and bath projects so you can see in 3D what the project will
look like well before any work has been done.
Once all the design features have been settled, we will begin to build
your project the old fashioned way; one piece at a time. We are not a factory, but a true custom shop. You will be designing with the same person
who will be building your project. That
takes out many of the errors that are common in situations where many different
employees may be involved in the process.
We use the highest quality kiln-dried lumber and plywoods in
the construction of your projects. We will actually be the ones to build your
cabinets or furniture and will not be ordering them from another source. Custom-built, by definition, means that a
product is designed and constructed to meet the specifications of an
individual customer. We do
exactly that, and we do it on-site. For
your projects; the doors, cabinet and drawer boxes and drawer fronts will take
shape on location. Often, even the trim
mouldings are selected by the customer and machined by us. We often assemble everything in our shop and
install at your site requiring only minimal time to complete a project in your
home.
We use high quality hardware on every project. You may choose from a wide selection on display
in our showroom. There are many
convenience items available including trash can pullouts, spice racks, pot and
pan pullouts, mixer lifts, lazy susans, keyboard trays, plus many more. Many different brands of hardware are
available including: Blum, Rev-A-Shelf,
Allison, Amerock, and Belwith Keeler. No
matter what your style, chances are good that you will find the right hardware
to fit your needs. Some customers select
carved embellishments, either hand-carved or machine-created, to beautify their
design. For those customers, a variety
of selections is also offered through our suppliers.
We use rich-colored stains to highlight the grain and
natural beauty of the wood to give you the look you desire for your furniture
or cabinetry. There are many colors to
choose from, and we often work with a customer to achieve just the right
color. Painted furniture and cabinets
are also available with colors to match your needs. Our finish coats are applied using furniture grade
lacquer that is hand rubbed to achieve a very smooth, cleanable surface that
will last for many, many years.
Custom countertops are also available with hundreds of color
and texture choices. We use Formica, NevaMar, and Wilsonart laminates to
fabricate custom countertops to complete your projects. Postform tops and solid surface countertops
are available on request but will be supplied by an outside source.
Now just a bit about myself:
My name is Jim Hager. I am a
retired Vocational Agriculture teacher with a passion for woodwork that began
when I was a youngster. My grandfather
was a carpenter/woodworker. I watched
him work, and developed a desire to do some of those same things. My Dad made sure I got to keep Grandpa’s
tools so that they could work on after his death. While
teaching VoAg in the schools, I honed my own skills while I taught the students
and eventually began to develop a shop with my father-in-law. “Pop” and I spent many happy days working
together on projects for the family.
Later on, we operated several craft booths in Hardy, Arkansas and
Branson, Missouri. Since building a new
shop in 2002, my focus has been cabinets and furniture. I retired in June of 2007 after having taught
school for 28 years, and I now consider myself a self-employed cabinet shop
owner. Come on by the shop and let’s
visit awhile about your ideas for your own custom-built project. |
